Character Artist

Playwing, owned by the founders of Ubisoft, is an independent Game Developer and Publisher with a lot of passion for games. One of our team’s main goals is to improve the gaming experience for players.

Are you interested in?

We are looking for an experienced and talented 3D Character Artist to join our studio in Bordeaux.

You will work closely with art director and other artists, producers, game designers and developers as part of an experienced team, where both your technical skills and creative vision will help to create our new fantastic Multiplayer action game in Dark Fantasy Universe.

You will be responsible of:

  • Create

    Creating detailed high-poly models (stunning characters, Dragons and other fantastic creatures), model efficient low-poly meshes and author high quality textures

  • Technical proficiency

    Highly experienced working with normal maps and capable of creating realistic materials

  • Proactive

    Self-motivated, proactive and able to demonstrate initiative

You must have

  • Highly experienced and proficient with 3D Studio MAX, Zbrush  and Photoshop
  • Strong 3D modeling, sculpting and texturing skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of anatomy
  • Experience of real-time character pipelines and efficient management of UVs and texture memory
  • Examples of current and past work which demonstrate a strong understanding of form, silhouette, shape, texture, color and lighting
  • Understanding of character preparation from modeling, rigging and skinning for animation
  • Strong hard surface sub-division modeling skill
  • Knowledge of real-time shaders
  • Knowledge of technical constraints, optimization and implementation
